I’ve had a running battle with a Dell Optiplex for the past three months and finally got it up and running this afternoon after spending about a 4-hour install procedure I printed out from Microsoft.  I’m just now finishing up the format on the 5 hundred-gigabyte D: drive and have a good start on all of the programs I plan on installing.   Not only that but I even put the LightScribe drive to working, plus the Simple Labeler and the Template Labeler.  If you’re not familiar with LightScribe technology it allows printing the label directly onto the CD and requires downloading LightScribe.exe plus either the simple labeling program or label templates.  I finally got this 3 GHz Dell Optiplex running and I don’t even feel a sense of accomplishment or excitement over it, now that flat out ain’t natural. All I feel is mentally and physically drained, like I just finished a bone-tiring hike.  By the way the Template Labeler requires Windows Service Pack 2 or higher to install,  Service Pack 2 must be installed before you can install  Windows Service Pack 3.

I finally decided to try one of these nifty little One Touch food choppers by Black & Decker, every time I throw food into the one I bought I actually wonder if it’s sitting there saying “Go Ahead Make My Day” lol. I mean every time you throw food into this little gem and hit the button it throws some whoop Ass on it you wouldn’t believe, in fact about three good cans of Whoop Ass. Cleanup is a breeze, just throw the bowl, blade and lid into the dishwasher or rinse it under running hot water and your good to go again. I’m not to crazy about the way it handles Sharp Cheddar Cheese though, kinda balls it up around the blades after it’s chopped it for a minute, everything else it does a good job though. Sitting on the counter it looks tiny but has a 1-½ cup (360 ml) bowl, with a safety Lock lid, so the kids can’t toss in frogs and turtles, no not really just wanted to get that out of my system lol.

I decided to start off with something simple like boiled eggs for egg salad, dropped three eggs into the little sucker locked the lid and the monkey pressed the button. Them poor little guys never stood a chance, got Da Hell chopped out of em and in a cold New York minute. Now some of you out there reading this might be thinking, “you can get that same thing using elbow grease” well yeah I could but Pastor Babbitt (SNL) why would I want to when this handy dandy little Black & Decker will do it for me lick a Dee split.

See I’m one of those pimento cheese freaks, so I threw a few chunks of Sharp Cheddar Cheese into the lil guy (alright big deal so it’s a lil guy to me) locked the lid and pressed the button, well it chopped it up just fine and then it kind of wadded it all up around the blades. Guess I’ll have to go back to just grating the cheese by hand, so here comes that elbow grease Pastor Babbitt so ya happy now.
